Between October 29 and November 1, 2024, OpenScience actively participated in the III International Workshop on Hyperspectral Imaging, held at the Faculty of Food Engineering at Unicamp. The event featured renowned speakers, short courses, and a dedicated space for networking and innovation, where researchers and professionals discussed advancements in the field of hyperspectral imaging.
OpenScience made a significant impact with its booth and presented three pioneering projects that reflect our commitment to advancing technology in the sector:
Development of an Algorithm for Focus Optimization in Multispectral Microscope Images – This work represents a major breakthrough in focus optimization for multispectral microscopy images, developed by Raissa Vanessa de Oliveira Silva, Tiago Henrique Agostinho, João Senírio de Sousa Costa, and Guilherme Post Sabin. Presented by João Senírio, the work won third place in the event’s award for best projects.
Classification of Defects in Different Bean Varieties Using Spectral Images and PLS-DA – A study focused on identifying and classifying defects in bean grains using spectral images and advanced data analysis techniques.
Development of Interface for Advanced Analysis of Multispectral Images – Designed to facilitate the processing of multispectral images for chemists and chemometricians.
In addition to these project presentations, OpenScience contributed with two sponsored talks, where our multispectral microscope, already used to identify adulterants in roasted and ground coffee, was highlighted. The OpenScience team also used the booth space to make valuable connections, showcase our equipment, and explore new partnerships.
Participating in this workshop was an enriching experience, fostering knowledge exchange and solidifying OpenScience as a leader in sector innovation. We appreciate the presence of our team and the opportunity to collaborate in such a relevant event for both academia and industry.
